Seader’s System Refresh

A One-Time Reset for Pools That Are Drifting but Not Fully Green

Your pool does not need to be green before it needs professional attention.

Cloudy water, rapid chlorine loss, unstable pH and weak circulation can all be signs that the pool is beginning to fall behind. Addressing those conditions early may prevent a minor problem from becoming a full algae recovery.

Seader’s System Refresh is a one-time deep cleaning, water-rebalancing and system-evaluation service for pools that are still blue and circulating but no longer look or perform as they should.

We evaluate the complete system, address the immediate condition and explain what may be causing the pool to drift.

What Is a System Refresh?

A System Refresh is more involved than an ordinary weekly maintenance visit but less extensive than a Back-to-Blue algae recovery.

It is designed for pools that need a concentrated reset because they have become:

  • Cloudy or hazy

  • Dull in appearance

  • Chemically unstable

  • Difficult to sanitize consistently

  • Overloaded with ordinary debris

  • Neglected for a short period

  • Poorly maintained by a previous provider

  • Unready to begin normal weekly service

The service combines detailed cleaning, comprehensive water testing, targeted chemical treatment and a visible circulation and filtration evaluation.

What the Service May Include

Depending on the pool’s condition, a System Refresh may include:

  • Testing free chlorine and total chlorine

  • Testing pH and total alkalinity

  • Testing calcium hardness

  • Testing cyanuric acid

  • Evaluating water clarity and visible color

  • Skimming leaves and surface debris

  • Brushing walls, steps, benches and the pool floor

  • Vacuuming settled debris as needed

  • Emptying skimmer and pump baskets

  • Evaluating visible circulation and return flow

  • Recording filter pressure when applicable

  • Inspecting accessible equipment for visible leaks or unusual operation

  • Targeted chlorination or oxidation when appropriate

  • Adjusting pH and alkalinity as needed

  • Establishing an appropriate circulation schedule

  • Routine backwashing or filter rinsing when appropriate

  • Providing a post-service digital report

  • Recommending additional treatment when the problem cannot be corrected through a standard System Refresh

The exact treatment is based on the pool’s current readings, equipment and visible condition.

When You May Need a System Refresh

This service may be appropriate when:

  • The water is blue but cloudy

  • The pool has lost its normal sparkle

  • The floor or main drain is becoming harder to see

  • Chlorine disappears unusually quickly

  • pH or alkalinity changes rapidly

  • The pool has gone without service for a short period

  • Heavy use has created unusual demand

  • A storm or landscaping work introduced excessive debris

  • Circulation appears weaker than normal

  • The filter pressure has changed

  • The pool needs attention before an event

  • You recently purchased the home

  • You are preparing to begin weekly service

  • You are dissatisfied with the condition left by a previous pool company

When a System Refresh Is Not Enough

A System Refresh is not intended for every neglected pool.

A different service may be required when:

  • The water is fully green

  • An established algae bloom is visible

  • Heavy debris covers the pool floor

  • The pool has been abandoned for an extended period

  • The filtration system is not functioning

  • The pump cannot circulate water

  • The filter requires complete disassembly

  • Calcium hardness or cyanuric acid requires substantial water replacement

  • The pool has severe scale, staining or surface deterioration

  • Multiple treatment visits will be necessary

If the initial evaluation shows that the pool requires a more extensive recovery, we will explain the findings before changing the scope.

Our Diagnosis-First Approach

We do not add a predetermined package

of chemicals to every cloudy pool

Here’s What To Expect:

1. We Evaluate Water Clarity and Color

We observe the appearance of the water, visible debris and whether the pool floor remains clearly visible.

2. Test the Complete Water Condition

We test the primary chemistry levels to determine whether sanitation, balance or accumulated stabilizer and minerals may be contributing to the problem.

3. Evaluate Circulation and Filtration

We observe return flow, pump operation, filter pressure and other visible operating conditions.

4. Clean the Pool

We remove ordinary debris, brush affected surfaces, empty baskets and vacuum as needed.

5. Apply Targeted Treatment

We select treatment according to the test results and observed condition rather than relying on a universal “shock” dose.

6. Establish the Operating Plan

We determine whether the pool needs extended circulation, filter attention, additional treatment or another corrective service.

7. Document the Findings

You receive a digital report showing test results, work completed, chemicals added and relevant recommendations.

Why Cloudy Water Requires Diagnosis

Cloudy water is a symptom—not a diagnosis.

Potential contributing conditions include:

  • Insufficient sanitizer

  • Improper pH or alkalinity

  • Excessive calcium hardness

  • Elevated stabilizer

  • Fine suspended debris

  • Poor filtration

  • Dirty filter media

  • Inadequate circulation

  • Short pump run times

  • Heavy swimmer use

  • Early algae growth

  • Equipment or valve problems

Treating only the appearance without identifying the likely cause can allow the condition to return.

Filter Service During a System Refresh

Routine backwashing or rinsing may be completed when appropriate for the filter and condition.

A full cartridge or DE filter teardown is not automatically included in the standard System Refresh. Complete filter disassembly requires substantially more labor and allows the internal components to be cleaned and inspected.

If a complete filter cleaning is needed, it will be explained and quoted separately.

What to Expect After Service

Many pools show visible improvement following the initial service, but complete clarity may require continued circulation and filtration.

Recovery time depends on:

  • The cause of the cloudiness

  • Current sanitizer demand

  • Amount of suspended debris

  • Filter condition

  • Circulation performance

  • Water chemistry

  • Pool size

  • Whether an equipment problem is present

Some pools may clear within approximately 24 hours. Others may require 48–72 hours, a filter cleaning, additional treatment or a different corrective service.

We will explain what to expect based on the pool’s actual condition rather than promising an identical timeline for every property.

Do not use the pool until the water chemistry is appropriate and the pool floor and main drain can be clearly seen.

Pricing

Seader’s System Refresh begins at $249 for a standard residential pool that remains blue, is circulating properly and does not require extensive algae recovery, substantial water replacement or major equipment repair.

Pricing may be affected by:

  • Pool size

  • Attached spa

  • Amount of debris

  • Water clarity

  • Chemical demand

  • Existing stabilizer or calcium levels

  • Filter condition

  • Required labor

  • Need for additional visits

  • Equipment or circulation problems

  • Property location and access

The following are quoted separately when needed:

  • Back-to-Blue algae recovery

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a System Refresh the same as Back-to-Blue?

No.

A System Refresh is designed for water that remains generally blue but has become cloudy, dull or chemically unstable.

Back-to-Blue is intended for established algae growth, green water and more extensive recovery conditions.

Q: How quickly will the pool become clear?

Some pools improve substantially after the initial service and filtration cycle. Others require 24–72 hours or additional work depending on chemistry, debris, filtration and circulation.

Q: Is filter cleaning included?

Routine backwashing or rinsing may be included when appropriate. Complete cartridge or DE filter disassembly is a separate service unless specifically included in the proposal.

Q: Can every chemistry level be corrected during one visit?

Not always.

Free chlorine, pH and alkalinity can often be adjusted through treatment. Excessive calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, salt or other accumulated material may require partial or complete water replacement.

Q: What happens if you discover algae?

A minor early condition may be addressed within the System Refresh when practical. An established algae bloom may require upgrading the service to Back-to-Blue.

We will explain the condition before expanding the scope.

Q: Can this service prepare my pool for weekly maintenance?

Yes. A System Refresh can establish a cleaner and more stable starting point before normal weekly service begins.

Some pools may first require a filter cleaning, water replacement or equipment repair.

Q: Can I book this before a party or event?

Yes, but schedule it several days in advance whenever possible. The exact clearing time cannot be guaranteed until the pool has been evaluated.

Q: Can you perform this service if my pump is not working?

The pool must circulate and filter the treated water for the service to succeed. If the pump or circulation system is not functioning, equipment diagnostics will usually need to happen first.
